Event History
The Border Smackdown was created as opportunity to bring together boys teams from around the Pacific NW and the western Canadian provinces, to enjoy high level competitive volleyball. During it's first 5 years of existence, the Border Smackdown was hosted by the Spokane Boys Volleyball Club (SBVC) and it's Director, Roland Madany. Roland still runs this event today!
Boys volleyball teams from all over the western United States and Canada meet in the Border Smackdown in May. These teams celebrate the sport they love, competing in 14's, 16's, and 18's divisions. In 2023, the event saw its largest participation with 66 boys teams across the three divisions!
We are looking forward to continued growth of this event as the exponential growth of boys volleyball continues to grow!
